This Cookie Policy explains how Holiday-In-Waikato uses cookies and similar technologies such as browser local storage. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. "Local storage" is a similar mechanism that lets a site remember small pieces of information in your browser. Both can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by another provider). We use these technologies sparingly.
2. Cookies & Storage We Use
Holiday-In-Waikato is an information-only guide. We do not run advertising and we do not place third-party tracking or marketing cookies. The only data we store on your device is the record of your cookie choice:
| Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent | Holiday-In-Waikato (local storage) | Essential / Functional | Remembers your cookie preferences so the banner is not shown again. | Until you clear your browser storage | First-party |
2.1 Google Fonts. Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these font files, Google receives your IP address as part of the request. Google Fonts does not set cookies on your device through this site. See Google's privacy information for details.
2.2 Hosting logs. Our web host keeps standard server logs (including IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability. These are server-side records, not cookies, and are described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Managing Your Consent
When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Customize your choice. Because we currently set only the essential consent record, your choice mainly controls optional functional and analytics storage should we add it in future. You can change your decision at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site, which will make the banner appear again.
4. Browser Controls
You can block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
For more general guidance, see allaboutcookies.org.
5. Changes
We may update this Policy if our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version. If we add functional or analytics cookies, we will update this page and the consent banner accordingly.
